I say never fuck with the classics, especially when your talent pool is a little shallow.
If you want to donate to to help the people in Haiti, there are many great ways to do it without pumping up the egos of under-talented celebrities who need an auto-tune machine they borrowed from Cher to hold a pitch.
I also might suggest you donate to the Qunicy Jones Retirement Fund and put him out to pasture before he decides to remake “Bad.”

The snippets I heard didn’t bother me, I thought it was great. Celine replaced Cyndi? I didn’t know they limited who could be in the group. I did see something where Jermaine Jackson was whining they hadn’t invited him. I think all the Jacksons except Janet were pretty much has beens, now they’re all grabbing any limelight they can.
I fully agree… I subjected myself to that video today and was appalled…
Really? They replaced Cyndi Lauper (who is still very much around, thank you) with Celine Fucking Dion??? For shame! And if you have to auto-tune to be remotely listenable, you don’t belong in a studio to begin with!
The ghost of Michael Jackson was probably happy with all the twink ‘singers’, though…
not sure why listening to snippets on the news would set anyone on edge. that is certainly not the intent.
media events that raise awareness, compassion (and money) aren’t inherently bad things. sure it’s p.r. for artists, musicians and celebrities, but many people in need benefit from the event, which is the primary purpose.
i don’t know why hearts are frozen when it comes to people trying to contribute to the relief of human suffering due to a natural disaster such as this.
i only heard snippets they had on the news, but even that much put me on edge. i agree with jasun
i thought it was pretty good.
but at east it was a uplifting song, in the UK they did “every body hurts”, hey had bloody buildings falling on them, of course it hurt!!
it’s the kind of song that makes you want to sit in a bath with a pack of razorblades, and this was to make them feel better – how, exactly??
I agree, if you want to help, just send them some money or food or clothing/blankets etc
