I don’t think Mancrunch a a LGBT-owned business and it also isn’t a very good “gay dating site” at all.. it just seems more like the “gay niche” site made by a clueless straight company for publicity. It appears to be from the same woman who brought you Establishedmen, ArrangementSeekers.com and CougarLife.
This company seems to be just using the gay community’s political strength for some cash. It looks like they made a “gay” commercial they knew would be rejected so the gay community would get angry and generate a lot of free press for them.
Stop playing into their hands.
The site is horrible… shows zero understanding of the gay community at all. There’s no way to call yourself a “top” or a “bottom” and there’s no understanding of how gay men relate to each other. The commercial in question is homophobic and vile. It depicts gay men as out-of-control sex freaks and depicts us as confusing and shocking and “gross” to straight men.
I’m 100% gay and I would have rejected this commercial and the site it advertises too.
And I’d bet they had NO intention of running the commercial… this is just a publicity stunt.

Hi Jasun, speaking of offensive commercials…..there is a laundry detergent commercial here in Canada that is on tv these days. It depicts a bunch of guys sitting around watching “the big game”….the home team scores and all the guys jump up and high five each other…one of the guys starts smelling his buddy’s pullover because it smells so nice from the detergent….he is hugging in a congratulatory embrace over the score…..all the other guys notice and get very uncomfortable seeing it. At first I just thought it was stupid. Then after seeing it so often on tv….it started to offend me but I did not know why. Now after reading your post….I know why it offends me. It portrays straight mens’ discomfort over male/male affection and intimacy. Have you seen the commercial?
No, but I don’t live in Canada anymore.
One of the owners of Manhunt is a big right wing conservative, too:

WorldTribes is currently doing a major upgrade… Good timing Jasun :) The site is working, but don’t be surprised to see odd stuff.
Exactly. Thank you for spreading the word about this…
I had no idea…although, admittedly, I couldn’t have cared less about that spot being rejected when I read what the content entailed. Thanks for the additional insight!
