I think that is THE best advice for that situation. The guy is only fooling himself into thinking there is something more than there truly is. I hope he takes your advice and moves on, as he is just holding himself back from finding someone worth his time.

I think the guy I've written about is scared & confused rather than deliberately using me – he's been living a straight, macho life all these years, and is finding it hard to admit to himself that he is gay, which is why he is still desperately trying to keep up the facade of living a 'straight' life.

But yes, I understand the comments and will start trying to live my own life. I'm not going to give him up completely – he's fucking gorgeous – but I'm going to stop feeling I have to be faithful to him. If he can shag a woman then, fuck it, I can shag other blokes!
