As you may or may not know, I recently re-discovered Kylie Minogue for the second time late last year when she released what I think is one of the best pop tunes in history, Timebomb.

Scott Hunter, Dirk Caber and I did our own lip-sync version of it while on an extended road trip and it became a bit of an internet sensation.

I first became aware of Kylie back when I was a newly-out young gay man in the late 80s and my boyfriend Jim and I would go to Chaps and Komrads and Colby’s in Toronto and her two hits “I should be so lucky” and “Je Ne Said Pas Pourquoi” were dance floor packers (She also had a hit with “The Locomotion,” but gay bars were never going to bother with that Candy Floss so I didn’t really know that one until later). While she became a major star in the rest of the world, North America forgot about her for over a decade until the early 00s when “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” stormed the charts again (Although the gay clubs did play a dance mix of “SHOCKED” in 1991, it wasn’t a song anyone else was aware of).

That’s when my buddy folk singer Rex Baunsit made me a mix CD of all things Kylie and I got acquainted with her stuff again. But after moving to Los Angeles… she yet again fell off my radar into a sea of my metal and hard rock.

But once I heard Timebomb, I decided to make a point of keeping up with her career.

Now… my first impression of the song is that it sounds a bit North American generic. Like Britney Spears Singing Robot music that’s auto-tuned to the point of soulless noise. It also has a catchy chorus but aside from that, it’s mostly sex noises that I’d expect from the generic American pop stars that permeate the air and ultimately is sounds like a 3-minute intro for a song that never really happens.

But hey, I didn’t like Madonna’s Confessions On A Dancefloor when I first heard it and I now think it’s her second-best album (to Like A Prayer), thus making it one of the best pop albums in history. So there. I’ll give this Kylie song a chance and for a metal snob such as myself, I think that’s a pretty good move.

So… tell me gents… what do you think of it?

The song is called “If a child is born” by Sodabit.

I think. Maybe someone can confirm this. My Hebrew education stopped with learning the Dradle Song and a few verses from my Jewish neighbors when I was a kid.

But this rather beautiful video and pop song (and singer) tell the story of a gay couple who want to adopt a child. music video and song were produced as part of the fight for the right of couples to marry, adopt children or use the services of Surrogacy in Israel.

But I did work on my first mainstream movie that will be doing the festival circuit this summer and hopefully get a theatrical release and then head to DVD in the fall.

It’s hysterical and wonderful and just the kind of fucked up movie you might think I would work on if I was going to work on a movie with no dick.

Mind you, there’s a martini glass full of cum in two scenes. So it’s not THAT far from my personal life…

It’s been well over a year since this scene came out. Adam and I had just launched AdamRussoXXX and we shot this video on New Year’s Day of all days to shoot a porn movie. Shay Michaels and Brian Davilla joined us and we shot it at the OXBalls factory.

We had a blast doing this and the scene turned out to be an amazing one.

Last week, the Titanmen production team headed out to Alta Dena to shoot a couple of scenes at the beautiful house of my buddies Rover and Cal. They have a stunning house that is, and I don’t hesitate to say this, my favorite place in the world. Surrounded by green trees and grass and bursting with a natural energy, dotted with fish ponds and a swimming pool and bursting with an odd masculine energy that it’s hard to really describe. I love it there.

I got to direct one scene while we were there. It’s really just a manifestation of the raw, masculine sexual energy that permeates the whole place. I wanted to relay the very slow, dreamy and surreal feeling of the grounds. I shot some video from below the coy pond that I’m hoping I can incorporate into the final movie. Not sure if this will make it into the final edit… But wanted to show it to you anyway.
