Ok.. for the record… if you shop for DVDs at the Jake Cruise Store, we will never send you anything that you didn’t order. And both of the DVD singles with me in them are still available.

ugh i remember my mom finding my porn stash a while back. it was made doubly worse that i was like 14 at the time and there was a stack of gay porn paraphernalia in my closet. the shame and horror i felt. but she got over it, mainly because i used the emotional blackmail. she *did* snoop through my closet looking for contraband without probable cause.

Ryon, actually the same happened to me, though I was 16 (in ’89) at the time my mom did find my porn mags, hidden under my mattress… the point is she was looking for signs of a girlfriend. I should have known better, since she had done that very same thing to my (straight) older brother !
I guess that’s really not a good way to come out to your mom, but at least, that way I could not deny the truth (and the fact that I had an older (18) boyfriend who had bought the mags !)

Out of curiosity, if I order something from jake cruise will it be covered or contained in a box? The reason I ask is because im renting a room right now from another gay man which normally would not be a problem. However, his straight friend with a 10 year old kid is now living with us as he tried to find a job in Cali. His friend and his son are perfectly okay with us being gay but he expressed to us that he wants to shield his son of any sexual content (ie noises in bed). We respect that. So I want to make sure the dvds will be covered and no sexual content will be displayed on the outside of the package. Please advise. Thanks!

It’s always better if you can have a planned face to face discussion with your parents. The over the phone surprise things is a bummer. Even though I never came out to my parents, my mother was almost my enabler because she used to get Playgirl magazine(the ones from the seventies and eighties were great) and I knew where she kept it and when she caught me with it I told her I just wanted to read the articles.(Yeah, I know.)I want to know if this guys mother watched the DVD before she confronted him. Now that would bereally embarassing on so many levels.

Porn companies sending unwanted material through the mail is the bane of my existence!!! There are a few that keep sending flyers who I’ve specifically requested to stop. It’s very aggravating! So it’s great to hear you guys don’t do this!
