I still remember finding those old dog-eared gay porn mags from the 80s… Old Reliable was pretty much THE name in what was called “Rough Trade.” They were the straight street hustlers who would pose for the lo-fi, grainy porn of the silver age. Sitting on ugly furniture, covered in lube and looking fast and dangerous, David Hurles photographed some of my most favorite porn ever.
No video was ever made, but these photographs are a document of gay history from a time when gay people were only just starting to build it.
Recently, David had a stroke and to help cover his medical care costs, here has been a blog and online store opened.
Drop by, check out some history, check out some vintage porn, make a donation, buy some porn… whatever… just check it out… I still get a boner thinking of David pretty much inventing the idea of “Gay For Pay” by walking around the streets of San Francisco approaching hustlers and asking them to pose naked.

Yeah, I wrote that well over two years ago so I’m not sure what I meant by that… I think maybe I meant that I never saw the video back then. But yes… there’s a lot of his video out there.
